AREA The beautiful, quiet island of Great Exuma lies near the southern end of the Exumas -- a chain of small islands in the Bahamas stretching for 150 miles, with Little Exuma at the very end. With numerous tiny offshore islets and a multitude of coves, bays, and harbors, the Exumas are a yachtsman's paradise. Just about every type of watersport can be enjoyed here -- wonderful swimming, snorkeling and diving, as well as excellent sport fishing. And during your stay on Great Exuma, be sure to set aside a morning or afternoon to explore the historic streets of George Town, the island's capital. THE PROPERTIES Hilltop Villa offers the perfect Caribbean hideaway at a very affordable price. From the villa's private setting atop "Jimmy Hill," it is just a short walk down to a pristine white sand beach and the brilliant turquoise sea. The location, six miles northwest of George Town and just minutes from the Moss Town Airport, is ideal for exploring the island (and the villa's minivan may be available for your use). This architect-designed villa consists of two wings that open onto a terrace and lawn with panoramic sea views. In the main house, you will find two bedrooms (one offers air conditioning and a small private deck), a bathroom, and the kitchen, living and dining areas. The other wing features open-beam cathedral ceilings and contains two more bedrooms (with ceiling fans), a bathroom, and a laundry room. A caretaker looks after the grounds, which are attractively landscaped with palms and other tropical plants and flowers. INTERIORS : 4 bedrooms (1 queen bed, 4 twin beds, one sofabed), 2 bathrooms (plus an outdoor shower), living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and garage. The villa is comfortably furnished in island style, and the amenities include radio, stereo, microwave oven and washer/dryer.
