THE AREA
If you have ever wanted to be washed ashore on a desert island, Mustique will allow you to do so in comfort and style. Many islands claim to be a hideaway, but Mustique is the real thing. Only forty to fifty villas share this small island with its nine white sand beaches. And reserving one of these villas is almost the only way you can enjoy a stay on this privately owned island -- long a favorite of royalty, rock stars, and other celebrities. When you are in the mood for socializing, there is a renowned restaurant (at the island's only hotel) and a convivial bar on the beach.

Mustique is in the Grenadines, just southeast of Bequia. It is less than an hour's flight from Barbados, and there are regular charter flights to the private landing strip.

THE PROPERTIES
We offer private 3-5 bedroom villas in various locations around the island. Most properties overlook the water, and some enjoy spectacular views towards the neighboring islands of Trinidad, Bequia or St. Vincent. Nearly all feature beautiful private pools, except for those that are right on the beach. The typical villa includes extensive terraces, sundecks and gardens designed for indoor-outdoor living in the balmy Caribbean climate. Well-known architects and designers have had a hand in making these homes exceptionally tasteful and comfortable. All properties include maid service; most come with a full household staff of maid, cook, and gardener.

The most common mode of transportation around the island is by jeep. For recreation, you can choose from horseback riding and tennis, plus windsurfing, scuba diving, and snorkeling. Sailing and deep-sea fishing charters are available, as well.

INTERIORS
Villas include 3-5 bedrooms, 3-5 bathrooms, living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and terraces. The interior design and furnishings vary according to the individual owner, and range from very comfortable to luxurious. Each villa has a telephone.
