THE AREA
Famous for its tropical beauty, Martinique
encompasses pristine sandy beaches and a 5,000-foot volcano, lush green
rainforests and exotic flowers and birds. French is spoken, of course,
and indeed Martinique may be the most French of all the Caribbean islands.
The culture of Martinique is distinctly foreign, a blend of French and
Caribbean influences. In the capital of Fort-de-France, you will find
internationally known restaurants specializing in French and local Creole
cuisine, and boutiques offering the latest French fashions. Away from
the larger resorts, hidden coves and tiny, unspoiled beaches predominate.
THE PROPERTIES
Villas are not easy to find on Martinique,
and the Villas Ste. Anne are a relative rarity, offering one of the
best values in the Caribbean. These attractive villas and apartments
are located in a residential area adjacent to Club Med, in the southwest
corner of Martinique. They are set just outside the village of Ste.
Anne, which lies on a large, sheltered bay where you can swim, snorkel,
scuba dive or water-ski in the clear turquoise waters. These bungalow-style
properties are located on a gently sloping hillside, about 200-400 yards
from the beach. Comfortable and modern, they feature spacious, airy
rooms furnished in a simple, contemporary style. Each property offers
a terrace, and some of the larger villas feature private pools.
INTERIORS
Studios include living/sleeping area,
bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Villas and apartments
include 1-3 bedroom(s), bathroom(s), living room, dining area and fully
equipped kitchen. The furnishings are simple but comfortable and modern.
Some properties offer sofabeds.
