THE AREA
St. John is one of a cluster of three main islands -- the others are St. Thomas and St. Croix -- that make up the U.S. Virgin Islands. Here, you will find an idyllic Caribbean setting that is also a little piece of the United States. These lush, green islands lie to the east of Puerto Rico, roughly in the middle of the Caribbean's string of islands. On St. John, you can be close to nature, yet still enjoy typical U.S. amenities in your villa.

St. John has avoided large-scale development, so you will be surrounded by pristine beaches and clear, sparkling seas -- all in a low-key, relatively uncrowded setting. In fact, two-thirds of St. John is protected by Virgin Islands National Park, making the island unique in the Caribbean. The park, on land donated by the Rockefeller family, preserves large areas of unspoiled tropical forest and offers hiking trails and even an underwater trail for snorkelers. Numerous bays and reefs make for great sailing and diving, and friendly manta rays are often seen swimming just offshore.

THE PROPERTIES
We offer an outstanding selection of villas on St. John, most located near Cruz Bay and Rendezvous Bay, on the southwest side of the island. The typical villa features a private pool and is set on a hillside, just a few minutes' walk from the nearest beach. All of these attractive, modern homes offer beautiful views of St. John's bays and lush green coastline. The villas are perfectly suited for island-style living, with large windows and terraces that bring the outdoors in. You will enjoy easy access to watersports (rental equipment is readily available), and you will also be just a short drive from the shops, cafés, and restaurants of the island's main town, Cruz Bay.

Villas include 2-4 bedrooms, 2-4 bathrooms, living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and terraces. Furnishings range from simple, island style wicker and rattan to very tasteful and comfortable contemporary furnishings. Villas may offer amenities such as telephone, TV, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Some also offer air-conditioned bedrooms.
