THE AREA
The Caribbean coastline of Belize (formerly British Honduras) includes a number of tranquil offshore islands with beautiful undeveloped beaches. The Leslie Cottages are located on South Water Cay, a 12-acre private island covered with palm trees and edged by white sand beaches, 14 miles off the coast of Belize. Both cottages are set at the water's edge and enjoy spectacular ocean views. The one-bedroom cottage overlooks the bay, with views towards the mainland. The two-bedroom cottage overlooks the barrier reef and the open ocean. Offshore, warm, clear azure seas and the world's longest unbroken coral reef promise unforgettable snorkeling and diving.How to get there: Belize, an English-speaking country, is located south of the Yucatan Peninsula. You'll fly to Belize City, then take a charter flight (approx. $80/person) to the port of Dangriga, where you'll catch the ferry to South Water Cay. Hotel accommodations in Belize City can be arranged, if desired.

INTERIORS
One-bedroom cottage (sleeps 4) and two-bedroom cottage (sleeps 6), with simple island-style furnishings. Each cottage includes bedroom(s), living room, kitchen (with refrigerator and oven), bath, and oceanfront balcony. Electricity has recently been installed, bringing a touch of the modern world to this idyllic setting.
