In Vieux Tours (the old quarter of the city) you'll enjoy strolling through the Place Plumereau, a neighborhood of cafés, antique shops, and many beautifully restored buildings. And Tours is only an hour from Paris by the high-speed train, the TGV, making day trips to Paris a beguiling diversion.
