Today, visitors to Normandy will find themselves immersed in history, art, culture, and cuisine (Normandy produces Camembert and other cheeses as well as Calvados apple brandy). Wherever you stay, you will find yourself within an hour or two of places such as the town of Bayeux, with its famous tapestry; the magnificent, offshore Gothic abbey of Mont St.-Michel, dramatically isolated by the tides; and the D-Day landing sites and American Cemetery. Also not to be missed are the beautiful cathedral city of Rouen and, to the southeast, Monet's famous house and gardens at Giverny.

PROPERTIES:
Most of our properties are along the coast between Cherbourg and the picturesque working port of Honfleur-an area that includes the classic, elegant seaside resorts of Deauville and Trouville. We also feature homes in the inland countryside, including the rugged hills of Swiss Normandy. Your choices include renovated farmhouses or cottages, and attractive villas and country houses of newer construction. Homes along the coast are typically just a short walk or drive from a sand or pebble beach, and some enjoy views of the sea. Depending on your location, you will likely be near facilities for horseback riding, golf, sailing and windsurfing.

We feature a few large private estates and châteaux in Normandy. You can also rent gîtes, inexpensive properties in the nationwide French system of private farm cottages and other rural homes.

Properties include 1-4 bedroom(s), 1-3 or more bathroom(s), living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. Furnishings and decor vary according to the individual owners; some are simple, others are more luxurious, sometimes with amenities such as dishwasher and washing machine.
