THE AREA
When you step across the threshold of the Chateau Guiot, you will enter
a world of extraordinary grace, elegance, and style. This lovely 17th-century
chateau blends sumptuous Old World atmosphere with all modern comforts
and conveniences. It is set on 12 acres of parklike grounds just outside
the village of Puyricard. Perfect for a dream vacation, the chateau
is also ideal for special events. The property includes a private chapel
large enough for weddings or concerts. The chateau is only 4 mile north
of Aix-en-Provence, so during your stay, you can enjoy day trips to
the south. You can also plan excursions north as far as Avignon, Arles,
and St-Remy and the Luberon Valley. Nearby activities include golf,
bicycling, country walks, visits to chateaux and vineyards, and, of
course, enjoying the superb restaurants in and around Aix.
THE PROPERTY
From the outside, the chateau presents an elegant, classically symmetrical
appearance, with immaculately maintained formal gardens, terraces, and
reflecting fountains. On the grounds, there is an unusual and romantic
feature: the ruins of a 17th-century archbishop's palace, which forms
a picturesque backdrop to the large, heated swimming pool. A tennis
court lies just beyond.
INTERIORS
Inside, a central hallway featuring trompe l'oeil paintings leads to
a grand salon, a paneled library, and a frescoed dining room. The rooms
are elegant, with may original, antique furnishings, yet eminently comfortable
and livable. The bedrooms have their own bathrooms and are tastefully
furnished. The chateau includes 10 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, grand salon,
library, games room, entertainment room, and other living areas, dining
room, and fully equipped kitchen. The property has its own elevator,
central heating, and multiple fireplaces.
HIGHLIGHTS
Luxurious chateau, exquisitely furnished, with full staff, just
4 miles from Aix-en-Provence, on a parklike estate with formal gardens,
chapel, pool, tennis court. Perfect for weddings, parties, or an unforgettable
and romatic vacation.
SERVICES
A full staff of housekeeper/cook, maid, caretaker and gardener look
after the property. Due to the value of the interior furnishings, the
