THE AREA
With its elegance and charm, Aix is one of the most appealing towns in all of Provence. This ancient university town is home to several excellent museums and a world-renowned summer arts and music festival. The main avenue is the famous Cours Mirabeau, lined with trees and fountains. In the historic town center, quiet 18th-century squares host sidewalk cafés and antique shops, and the bustling flower and produce markets are alive with the colors and flavors of Provence.

With Aix as your base, you can take day trips to an incredible variety of destinations -- including the clifftop village of Les Baux; the quintessential Provençal town of St-Rémy; and the Lubéron valley, an area of picturesque hilltop villages that is also a French national park. The two other major towns of Provence are within easy reach -- Avignon and Arles are each about 45 miles to the west-northwest. And for families or anyone who wants to spend time at the beach, Aix is also the Provençal town that is closest to the coast.

THE PROPERTIES
Our villas are set in and around Aix-en-Provence, close to the attractions of town and to recreation, including excellent golf, tennis, and riding. The typical villa is a spacious, attractive Mediterranean-style property with its own pool, gardens, and terraces. Some are converted mas, traditional Provençal farmhouses that offer rustic charm combined with all modern comforts and conveniences. Most villas offer 3-5 bedrooms, but smaller and larger properties are available. We also offer some charming 2-3 bedroom apartments in villas, usually with their own garden or terrace. If you would like to be right in town, a few apartments are available in Aix itself.

Amenities vary depending on location, but these properties are usually well equipped with telephone, TV, and often a dishwasher and washing machine. Sofabeds are available at some properties.
