THE AREA
The "best kept secret" of Provence, the Lubéron Valley lies just over 20 miles to the east of the historic city of Avignon. The Lubéron remains unspoiled despite its literary renown. Part French national park, the valley's landscape offers a varied picture of vineyards and farmlands alternating with fields of lavender and other wildflowers. Villages such as Bonnieux, Gordes, Roussilon and Menerbes are perched on crags or hilltops, with spectacular views across the countryside. Just about every village offers a weekly market and a café or two, and there are some superb restaurants in the region that showcase the best of local food and wine.

THE PROPERTIES
Our properties in the Lubéron range from cozy cottages to luxurious villas with private pools. Some are located outside villages, but most are in comletely rural settings. The majority are old, including many 18 th- or 19 th-century "mas," the traditional Provençal farmhouses built of local stone. Many have been beautifully renovated to provide all modern comforts, while preserving original details such as beamed ceilings and fireplaces. You will also find modern villas built in traditional style. Most villas offer a garden or terrace for outdoor dingin. Sizes range from two to five bedrooms, but a few larger villas may be available on request. Since the Lubéron is an area that attracts many artists and designers, interiors are often quite elegantly furnished. Please contact us for details on specific properties.

INTERIORS
Villas include 2-5 bedrooms, 1 or more bathrooms, living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. Interiors range from simple and rustic to very comfortable. Sofabeds are often available. Most properties offer amenities such as dishwasher, washing machine and color TV.

Two-week minimum stay. (One-week stay may be possible out of peak season.) Peak season as stated runs from July - Augus. Lower rates may apply for some villas without pools. Reduced off-season rates available upon request. Refundable security deposit usually required. There is generally an extra charge for linen and utilities. Maid service may be available on request.
