THE AREA
Rugged coastline and long stretches of deserted beach ... lakes, hills, and lush green countryside ... rural Ireland's landscapes are many and varied. Each county offers a distinctive natural setting, historic sites, and favorite activities, including walking, horseback riding, world-class fishing and golf. We feature a wide and very affordable selection of country cottages throughout Ireland. Your choices include simple, traditional stone cottages and farmhouses -- some of which have peat-burning fireplaces -- as well as modern bungalows. Typically, these properties are close to the sea, and many enjoy wonderful sea views. Some are in rural inland areas, but most are on the coast, and all are an easy drive from the nearest village.

THE PROPERTIES
We offer the greatest number of cottages in Kerry, Cork, and Galway, where the scenery is spectacular and Irish traditions are strong. On the southwest coast, the Ring of Kerry is a favorite scenic drive, and Killarney is famous for its dramatic mountains, pretty lakes, and seasonal wildflowers. On the rugged northwestern coast is Galway, perhaps the most Irish part of Ireland, where you will hear Gaelic spoken and traditional music played in village pubs. We also feature a small number of properties in other parts of Ireland, including Donegal and Mayo in the northwest; along the rugged, rocky coastline of County Clare; and on the southeast coast, in Wexford and Waterford (famous for its crystal). Also available are a few properties in County Wicklow, just a half-hour's drive south of Dublin, and in rural Tipperary.

INTERIORS
Properties include 1-4 bedroom(s), bathroom(s), living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. Decor tends to be no-frills, and furnishings range from simple to comfortable. Many offer central heating and color TV; some also offer washing machine and/or dishwasher.
