Stresa
Lake Maggiore is one of the beauty spots of northern Italy, and
Stresa is its best-known lakeside resort. This villa is set on
a hillside above Stresa, toward the southern end of the lake.
The three-story villa enjoys views of the Borromean Islands and
across the lake to the hills beyond. A gated drive leads to the
property, which includes lovely terraced gardens, a pool
, and an outdoor
dining terrace with wonderful lake views. Inside, classic furnishings
and antiques complement the villa's grand style. Several ground
floor rooms feature french windows opening onto the terrace. For
antique lovers, the fully modernized kitchen retains some original
19th-century fixtures. It is just over half a mile down to Stresa
for dining and shopping. Milan is about 50 miles to the southeast.

(3 double, 4 twin, 4 single), 5-1/2 bathrooms, living room with
fireplace, 2 small sitting rooms, formal dining room, fully equipped

Feriolo
di Baveno
Feriolo di Baveno is a small village on the southern shores of
Lake Maggiore, just over 4 miles from the grand hotels and villas
of Stresa. Situated away from the main lakeside road, Feriolo
is almost traffic-free; with a small beach and a lakefront promenade,
it is an ideal smaller alternative to Stresa. We feature two apartments
in a converted villa here; there are just twelve apartments altogether,
in the villa and a one-story building on the same grounds. The
village and the nearest supermarket are within walking distance.
From Baveno, about 2 miles south, and from Stresa, ferries leave
for the Borromean Islands-a perfect day trip.
Both apartments offer access to a small, private garden. Apt #1
is on the second floor and features a terrace with lake views.
Apt #2 is a ground-floor duplex. Both offer 1 double bedroom,
living/dining room, bathroom, and small but fully equipped kitchenette
(no oven). Central heating, double sofabed, crib.
