THE AREA
The Costa Smeralda is just a small part of northeastern Sardinia - but it may be the most exclusive stretch of coastline in the Mediterranean. This large island has many miles of coastline, but the 10-15 mile stretch that is the Costa Smeralda offers a remarkably beautiful setting, with its pristine white sand beaches, rocky coves, and dazzling blue-green seas. The legendary "Emerald Coast" was developed by the Aga Khan, who imposed strict guidelines so as to protect the natural beauty of the area.

The Costa Smeralda has always attracted an exclusive, very well-to-do clientele. This is a resort designed for pleasurable pastimes in a spectacular setting, and the facilities - tennis clubs, yacht harbors at Porto Cervo and elsewhere, and a Robert Trent Jones golf course - are all world-class.

Our villas and apartments are set in and around the residential areas of Porto Cervo, Capriccioli, and Cala di Volpe. All of the villas and apartments are built in Sardinian style, with attractive gardens and terraces, and walls in a palette of earth tones that blend with the natural surroundings. A few villas are literally on or just steps from the beach, while many are set on hillsides, with panoramic views of the coast and the clear turquoise sea. Nearly all of the villas offer their own swimming pools; apartments usually share a pool. Porto Cervo, the center for dining and nightlife, is always within easy reach.

Apartments and villas comprise 1-5 bedroom(s), 1-5 bathroom(s), living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. A few properties are relatively simply furnished, but most offer very comfortable, tasteful decor. Amenities may include telephone, dishwasher, and washing machine.
