THE AREA
Vale do Lobo is one of Europe's premier luxury resorts. A golfer's paradise, this resort in the Algarve region of southern Portugal offers championship courses in some of the most spectacular settings to be found anywhere. Some holes are located along the clifftops, with magnificent sea views. Vale do Lobo also offers tennis, horseback riding, and sailing; Barrington's, an upscale health and fitness club; and, last but not least, a beautiful golden sand beach. The resort's focal point is the Praca, a cobblestone square surrounded by fashionable restaurants and bars. Nightlife is plentiful around the Praca -- and for still more choices, you can easily go into the neighboring resort of Quinta do Lago for the evening. Located about a dozen miles northwest of Faro, the provincial capital, Vale do Lobo also makes a convenient base for day trips throughout this part of Portugal. Toward the western end of the Algarve, historic towns and villages such as Lagos and Portimao convey a rich sense of the region's Moorish heritage.

THE PROPERTIES
At Vale do Lobo, we offer a wide selection of villas, apartments, and "village houses" -- townhouses designed in traditional Algarve village style. Some properties are set about 500 yards from the beach, while others are about a mile inland, near Barrington's health and fitness club (where discounted membership is available). The properties range in size from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom villas with pools. Most of these attractively designed homes feature private or shared pools (there is an additional charge to use the communal pool at the beach). Each residence also offers its own terrace and garden.
