THE
AREA
Villa La Cala is set in the hills overlooking the Bay of Estepona, between
Gibraltar and Marbella on the Costa del Sol. This attractive property
comprises a main house and a separate cottage located just a few steps
across a rose-filled courtyard. The villa's Moorish-inspired architecture
is typical of southern Spain and features a tile roof and a colonnaded
terrace; the terrace (with its built-in barbecue) provides the perfect
setting for dining al fresco. Within the grounds of this 3-acre property
are a splendid 45-foot swimming pool (with its own shower), and beautifully
landscaped gardens featuring wildflowers, palms, and orange and lemon
groves. The villa offers excellent views of the sea and the surrounding
countryside; on a clear day, the coast of North Africa is visible only
17 miles away.
Approached
along a country road, Villa La Cala feels secluded, yet it is only a
mile from the town of Estepona and the beach. There is a supermarket
about a half mile from the house, and in Estepona, a typical Spanish
town, you will find shops, a number of excellent restaurants, and a
bustling market in the old town. Nearby recreation includes tennis,
horseback riding, and golf. During your stay, you can plan day trips
along the Costa del Sol, inland to the historic city of Seville, or
even a boat trip across the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco!

The property
comprises 5 bedrooms (3 double, 2 twin), 4 bathrooms, living/dining
area (w/french windows opening onto pool area), outdoor dining area
on terrace, and fully equipped kitchen. The two twin bedrooms and one
of the bathrooms are located in the separate cottage. The villa is tastefully
furnished and offers a fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, and travel
cots for babies.
