THE AREA
The short stretch of coastline between Marbella and Estepona is the
most scenic and most exclusive part of the Costa del Sol. Marbella and
its neighbor, Puerto Banus, are internationally known playgrounds for
the rich and famous; between them, the two resorts offer a dazzling
assortment of yachts, nightclubs, designer boutiques and cosmopolitan
restaurants. The nearby fishing village and resort of Estepona preserves
a more traditional atmosphere, with its picturesque waterfront promenade
and well-preserved old town center. And, when you are in the mood for
day trips, you can easily drive up into the mountains of Andalusia,
visit the historic city of Seville, or even take the ferry across the
Strait of Gibraltar to explore the ancient streets and bazaars of Morocco.
THE PROPERTIES
The attractive
resort of Las Casas del Sol is set between Marbella and Estepona, and
features a rare beachfront location. (On the Costa del Sol, beaches
are nearly always claimed by luxury hotels.) These comfortable, pueblo-style
townhouses range from studios to 4-bedroom properties. The apartments
offer patios or balconies and occasionally a garden, while the townhouses
all feature large gardens and patios. Colorful bougainvillea and graceful
palm trees flourish on the well-kept grounds, and paths lead down to
the sandy beach. Because the coast here is flat, however, very few properties
offer sea views. The resort itself features multiple swimming pools,
plus tennis courts, a beach club, restaurants and a nightclub; there
are also a dozen golf courses to choose from in the area. It is just
3-4 miles from Estepona, and 5 minutes' drive from Puerto Banus and
Marbella.
INTERIORS
Studios
include living/sleeping area, bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen/dining
area. Apartments (including some duplexes) and townhouses include 1-4
bedroom(s), 1-3 bathroom(s), living room, dining area, fully equipped
kitchen, and patio. All are comfortably furnished; some sofabeds are
available. Townhouses offer dishwasher and washing machine.
