THE AREA
Sotogrande offers all the advantages of the Costa del Sol -- the beaches, the sunshine, and the recreation -- away from the hubbub of the larger coastal resorts. This upscale enclave of villas is on the coast, about 45 minutes west of Marbella, and an hour and a half from the airport at Malaga. It is highly recommended for avid golfers and for those who want to explore both the coast and the picturesque "white villages" in the hills of Andalusia, just a short drive inland. Sotogrande offers the highly regarded Valderrama Golf Course, as well as tennis courts, riding stables, a beach club, and a polo ground.

This is the less developed western end of the Costa del Sol. To the east is Estepona, an attractive small resort, with good restaurants and a beautiful promenade along the old fishing harbor. Twenty minutes to the west lies Gibraltar, which offers fabulous views across the Straits and day trips across to Morocco.

THE PROPERTIES

They are set in various locations -- some on the golf course, others just a few hundred feet from the beach. Your views will be of Sotogrande's landscaped grounds, the countryside and the nearby hills. The beach is never more than a few minutes' drive away. If you would like an apartment, those at Sotogrande enjoy a wonderful location right on the beach. They are very well designed, each with its own balcony or terrace. The beach club, golf course, tennis and riding facilities are available to all guests.
