THE AREA
Flanked by Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and nestled at the foot of the magnificent Jungfrau, Mönch, and Eiger mountains, Interlaken is the gateway to the Bernese Oberland. This part of Switzerland is a year-round destination, with skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating in the winter; hiking and mountain climbing in the summer; and for the adventurous, river rafting, paragliding and more. Interlaken, a bustling city set "between the lakes," is a destination in itself, with its attractive town center, Old World cafés and tearooms, and the Kursaal casino. A funicular railway can whisk you up to nearby Heimwehfluh for a spectacular view of the mountains and lakes. This winter sports mecca is also a center for the arts, with music festivals and summertime open-air performances of "William Tell." Interlaken makes an ideal base for trips to Bern (36 miles to the northwest), Grindelwald, the Lauterbrunnen Valley, and the famous (and car-free) mountain resorts of Wengen, Mürren, and Gimmelwald. Also close by are the picturesque villages of Spiez on Lake Thun and Iseltwald on Lake Brienz.

We offer many chalets and apartments throughout the Interlaken area-perfect for avid skiers as well as those who just want to relax by the fireside in their own chalet. Your choices include lakeside or forest settings, including the resorts on Lakes Thun and Brienz, often with delightful views of woods and mountains. Also available are properties in and around the breathtaking mountain villages of the Bernese Oberland. Some properties may be near sports facilities-ice skating rinks, tennis courts, or a lakeside beach. Most of our chalets are built in classic alpine style. INTERIORS
Chalets and apartments include 1-3 bedroom(s), 1-2 bathroom(s), living room, dining area or dining room, and fully equipped kitchen. Studio apartments are available, as well. Simple to comfortable furnishings, in traditional/rustic or modern styles; many homes are equipped with a sofabed, plus TV, VCR, dishwasher, washing machine, and fireplace.
