Entering into the open plan lower level kitchen/sitting room, you immediately sense that the house is not just a rental, but a lovingly decorated home in which the owners spend time. With the kitchen painted in pretty blues and greens, it has all the conveniences of your own kitchen and a French door for easy access to the outdoor patio areas. A skylight centered above the kitchen allows for extra light to the entire space. The highlight of the dining area is a huge round dining table with plenty of seating for large parties.
The sitting room is amply furnished with a comfortable sofa, floor pillows, country antiques and cozy kelim rugs. Every side of the room is lined with windows offering fantastic views to the sea and neighbouring islands creating a light and airy space.
A winding stairway leads to a unique upper floor with two bedrooms on different levels. A smaller stairway leads to the master bedroom with three French doors opening to two private balconies and one shared terrace. The balconies are on opposite sides of the room and offer spectacular views of sunrise and sunset.
The 'top of the world' terrace is the perfect spot for afternoon sunning with views down to the pool and un-interrupted vistas to brilliant azure seas.
The spacious w/c with full sized bathtub is centrally located down the hall and is decorated in bright blue tiles. At the end of the hallway is the second bedroom which consists of a sunny office with desk, bookshelves and French door to the same terrace that is shared with the master bedroom. A small stairway (not recommended for young children) ascends to the sleeping gallery. It is furnished with two twin beds in an open space under the roof rafters and has a small w/c shower room.
A third bedroom with a separate entrance is reached from the front terrace. This twin-bedded room is perfect for teenaged and young adult children allowing them some independence and privacy from the main house. It is equipped with a separated small shower room and w/c.
EXTERIOR: The outside areas of this well designed villa are part of its best assets. The wrap-around terracotta tiled terraces with glorious sea views lend a real Mediterranean feel to the spaces and create a perfect spot for all. Sun or shade, breezes or a warm protected sunny area, there's an ideal position for every time of day. A large built-in seating area is located just outside of the kitchen for outdoor dining. The pool is built on a level lower than the villa with drop away views to distant sea and sky. Another roomy terrace set below the pool level adds even more space for sunning and relaxing.
SURROUNDINGS: Villa Larissa's position near the north tip of the island ensures lots of room for exploration. Some of the islands loveliest and out of the way beaches are within just a few minutes drive. Walkers will enjoy the most un-spoilt parts of the island by walking in any direction along the many old donkey trails and paths. The town of Glossa can be reached in only 15 minutes (approx) walk from the villa enabling you to have an evening meal and walk back as the sun is setting in the distance.
