Chateau Garthe is an attractive 18th Century manor house which offers both spacious 'indoor' and'outdoor' living. Children will love the space and should particularly appreciate the hidden wendy house set beside its own magical woodland with stream and lily pond. The immaculate pool area complete with comfortable sun beds and a beautifully converted covered dining area is a great place to enjoy whiling away the hours. Positioned 100 metres away from the main house is the delightful yet simple guest house, a converted Pigeonnier, providing a separate living area which works well for those in the party who wish to maintain independence and space. Located within the renowned Pays de Duras wine producing region, it is set in the midst of charming countryside with a blend of vineyard, orchard, forest and evocative Roman churches, an area which lends itself to fruitful exploration. The Duras vineyards date from long before the birth of Christ, coinciding with the Greek importation of wines to Marseilles. We consider this a great destination for people who appreciate good wine and for any potential historians!
