2km from a village, high on a terraced hillside in a remarkably peaceful setting, Villa Mennon enjoys superb, panoramic views over green and verdant olive groves and rolling wooded countryside to the distant vivid blue sea.
Completed just last year and built on three levels, the villa provides ideal accommodation for larger families with a generous living area and air conditioning in all four main bedrooms.
At first floor level are 2 double and one twin bedroom each with its own private terrace/balcony and sharing a family bathroom with bath & shower attachment.
On the ground floor to the rear is a further shower room plus a single bedroom, whilst to the front of the villa, is the well furnished open plan living area notable for its numerous decorative touches and comfortable seating, with a choice of two leather sofas around the large coffee table by the fireplace and perfectly placed, dare we say, to occasionally watch TV or a DVD? On the far side of the room is a formal dining area and then the well equipped kitchen with all mod cons including a small dishwasher.
Patio doors from the living room open out to a covered terrace overlooking the
attractive 9m x 4m pool with lawned gardens to the side and a number of shady olive trees, plus a purpose built barbecue with a tiled patio area offering the same wonderful open vistas of the countryside below.
Built romantically into the eaves of the house at second floor level and reached by a fairly steep wooden staircase and through a curtained doorway, is a simple double bedroom with pine floors, low level bed, bedside tables and a small sitting area. Please note that this bedroom does not have air conditioning.
NB. The villa also has a washing machine and the pool has tiled steps into the shallow end for easy access.
For wining and dining there’s a good choice of tavernas in the village but for a simple meal and a touch of real local colour, visit the cafenion in the tiny village of Maza just 5 minute drive down the hill and already a favourite with our customers staying in Villa Mennon. Georgioupolis with its long sandy beach and a huge selection of tavernas is a further 10 minutes drive.
Georgioupolis:
Although Georgioupolis with its lovely sandy beaches is now a thriving seaside resort it still retains a pleasing rural ambience and leisurely pace of life. Numerous tavernas and cafes surround the bustling village square whilst in little side streets you will find a number of small shops selling jewellery and local pottery. In the village, huge Plane trees line the road where you will find mini-markets, a bank and a bakery (do try the cheese pies). Of a morning time this is a bustling little town, but by mid-day the pace slows and the tavernas spread their tables out towards the banks of the river Voutakis, where you can relax in the shade and enjoy a bowl of creamy local yogurt and honey, for which this area is famous.
