Set in mature wooded parkland, this handsome square building qualifies as a chateau thanks to the two towers that adorn its façade.
The site retains traces of the original medieval fortress, but what you see now was built in the 19th century, with all the solidity and spaciousness that characterised that architectural period. Once the home of a marquise and a countess, a famous Egyptologist and a heroic soldier, the chateau now provides a luxurious escape for those longing to escape their titles, history and the battlefield.
Throughout the décor has a simple, harmonious modernity that accentuates the remnants of the past – uncluttered contemporary furniture, discreet lighting, pale walls and textiles provide a soothing background to the original solid oak floors, curvaceous fireplaces of carved marble and high, heavily beamed ceilings.
Ground Floor:
The Hall: Large double doors with fantastically intricate ironwork open into a hall from which the elegant curving staircase ascends.

The room can be rearranged to make an undistracting setting for business functions, with convenient access to wifi.
