This attractive late Georgian cottage/house is in an excellent position. A 5 minute walk north takes you to Harrods, Knightsbridge - tube station (Piccadilly line, tube direct from Heathrow) and Hyde Park. 5 minutes walk the other way is Sloane Square, the centre of the universe for the London upper-crust, and Peter Jones - the department store favoured by them - tube station (District and Circle lines).
The house sleeps 5 in one double, one twin and one single bedroom. There are one and a half bathrooms.
These terraced "cottages" were originally built for the artisans and tradesmen who serviced the grand houses of Belgravia. Funny how times change - now the Belgravia houses are all embassies or owned by the super rich and the "cottages" are considered highly desirable by those whose families used to live in "the big houses".
This house has a decidedly homely and "cottagey" feel about it.
The accommodation is arranged over 3 floors.
On the ground floor is the main living room (27ft x 10ft, 8.20m x 3m), a room in two distinct parts, well lit with windows in both. There's ample comfortable seating and a gas "coal effect" fire gives a very cosy atmosphere. You're very welcome to move one of the bedroom TVs down to here.
Downstairs is the good sized kitchen (17ft x 8ft9, 5.2m x 2.65m) with all the expected appliances and a table with seating for 5. This gives out to a pleasant patio garden (18ft9 x 13ft, 5.7m x 4m) with garden table and chairs. The twin bedroom is also on this floor, it can be configured as a single (as shown in the photo) or a twin - the other bed is a fold away. It has its own loo and washbasin.
Upstairs is the main bedroom (4ft6 bed) and the single room. The bathroom has a bath with hand shower, basin and loo.
It's no accident that this part of town, one of the most sought after places to live, boasts some of the best shops and restaurants in London. Fashionable Walton Street is just at the top of road (up-market shops and restaurants), less than 3 minutes walk away is Beauchamp (pronounced Beecham) Place (fashion shops and more restaurants).
The Hyde Park, Sheraton Tower and Berkley hotels, all with renowned dining rooms, are all within a 15 minute walk on Knightsbridge walking towards Hyde Park Corner.
