Edwynson Castle is in a wonderful setting sitting proud above the Highland town of Pitlochry with stunning views. The original house was built in 1760 and forms the Georgian section of the building. In 1895, the Victorian section was built which forms the “castle” part of the building. For those booking Edwynson, the castle is booked as a whole and this family home is yours for the duration of your stay. The property is extremely comfortable and is beautifully decorated with lots of family portraits and elegant furniture.
The accommodation consists of on the ground floor: a breakfast room, a play room, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room with open fire, a drawing room with open fire, a smaller sitting room, a bathroom and 3 w.c’s.
On the first floor is the accommodation and it consists of 1 double room en suite, 1 double room, 1 twin room, 2 single rooms, 2 bathrooms and 1 shower room.
On the second floor are 4 twin rooms, 2 bathrooms and the snooker room.
Within the drawing room, which is a large room that can seat 16 people there is an open fire, as well as a grand piano. Next door in the smaller sitting room, this acts as the TV room, which has SKY, as well as a DVD player.
The round dining room table can be adjusted to your requirements and whilst it is normally set for 8 people, it can be adjusted for 12 or 16 people as well.
The kitchen consists of a 2 door AGA, an electric oven and grill, with gas and electric rings to cook on, a microwave, two dishwashers and a fridge freezer. For more informal dining there is the breakfast room next door and then there is a playroom which is ideal for smaller children.
On the second floor, there is a substantial snooker room, with a full size billiard table. Set in 15 acres of grounds, which includes a tennis court for your use, this is an excellent venue for a family holiday or family occasion over a week or a weekend.
