In Western Crete, set in wonderful unspoilt countryside between Georgioupolis and Rethymno, Villa Lucello is a large modern house (approx.250 sqm in size), which can accommodate 8 people. It sits in extensive private grounds of 17,000 sqm, with a large swimming pool. It has truly fabulous views of the massive White Mountains, Episkopi village and out as far as the sea. The towns of Rethymno and Chania lie approx. 20 km and 50 km away respectively.
On the ground floor the villa has a large bright split-level living/dining room with TV, radio, and a little library. There is a modern fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine and dishwasher, shower/wc, and a sun terrace. On the spacious upstairs storey there are four bedrooms, all with twin beds, one shower/wc and one full bathroom with a large bath/wc. There are balconies leading off all the bedrooms. There is also central heating for extra comfort, out of season. The big gardens, with olive and fruit trees and grape vines provide an ideal space for family barbecues, outdoor games and swimming and sun bathing around the private pool.
On the edge of the grounds there is one apartment, built in traditional style, which can only be rented in combination with Villa Lucello. It is 120 sqm in size and suitable for 4-5 people. The apartment has a well equipped dining kitchen area with a double folding bed, a living room with a single sofa bed and TV, one bedroom with a double bed and veranda, a bathroom/wc, and a shower/wc with a washing machine.
The owners have a small cottage within the large grounds which is discreetly positioned beyond the pool. For shops, tavernas and kafenions, the delightfully ethnic country village of Episkopi is around 1.5 km away, and one of the most impressive beaches around Rethymno is about 3km away, where turtles come to lay their eggs. It is about 20 km to Rethymno and we consider a car to be essential. Cleaning and linen change are once weekly.
