Holiday in style in our French barn conversions with shared, heated swimming pool near Cluny in Southern Burgundy, France.
We have designed this property in keeping with the rural charm of the area, preserving the original features of the buildings whilst equipping each gite with all the modern comforts to ensure you have a relaxing holiday that has both character and style!
The pool and outdoor activities at Fournier provide an ideal base for families and couples alike and are situated in an area renowned for wine, gastronomy, romanesque architecture and a friendly welcome that offers activities and attractions for people of all ages.
Owners live on site with 2 children.
Champagny sous Uxelles is central to many tourist beauty spots in the surrounding area such as Cluny, Tournus, the “Voie Verte” cycle track at St.Gengoux, Buxy, the Chateau de Cormatin, medieval Brançion, Chalon sur Saone and Beaune and is overflowing with picturesque but unspoilt villages, chateaux, vineyards and areas of natural beauty for touring, walking, cycling and sightseeing.
Cottage I: barn conversion sleeps 6/8:
Downstairs: Spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area with tiled floors and underfloor heating, high beamed ceilings and an open log fire. Kitchen has bar that opens on to dining area that has farmhouse table with benches. Seating area has TV/DVD/video and hi-fi unit including a selection of DVDs and CDs. French windows open on to: A large terraced area that looks out on to extensive garden.

Master bedroom with king size bed and french windows leading on to it’s own terraced area
Upstairs: Double bedroom with low beamed ceiling and view onto back garden.
Bedroom with 2 single beds, beamed ceiling and velux window.
An attractive Mezzanine area provides living and sleeping space with a double sofa bed.
All beds have new, firm mattresses.

Cottage II: sleeps 2/4 -
A Charming first floor gite entirely renovated in old farm building.
Downstairs: Hall - A separate toilet - A large bathroom with walk in shower.
Open plan living, dining and kitchen area with tiled floors and under floor heating with dining table, chairs and seating area. Mini Hi-fi with CD player and selection of CDs. TV with DVD player available. French windows lead to: A small terrace on the balcony with armchairs and table.
Upstairs: Two bedrooms with high beamed ceilings and velux windows. Bedroom one has a king size bed and Bedroom two has two single beds. All beds have new, firm mattresses.
Location: The gites are situated in an area of beauty and culture.
Surrounded by the famous Burgundy vineyards, medieval villages, chateaux and outstanding beauty spots, this area is renowed for it’s wine, gastronomy, architecture and landscape and is steeped in history, offering tourists a real taste of France.
Champagny sous Uxelles and the surrounding area has everything to offer to those in search of an authentic French experience whilst providing great activities ideal for families.
Activities: 3 kms - (a bike ride away or 5 minute drive) from Chapaize with it’s beautiful romanesque church and village. Here you can visit the “Auclair” Wine Cellar to taste the local wine and eat at “Le St. Martin”, a cosmopolitan restaurant where you will find great food at a great price, a contemporary atmosphere and exhibitions of local artists’ work.
7 kms - (10 minute drive) to St.Gengoux Le National – a beautiful medieval town/village with several good shops and restaurants and small streets to explore. You can also join “La Voie Verte” here - A trail created from the old railway line where you can hire bikes or roller blades and join the bike riders, roller bladers, horse riders and walkers enjoying the fresh air and outstanding views.
From St.Gengoux, travel "on the voie verte" through the vineyards as far as Buxy, a medieval town with it’s famous Cave Co-opérative (Wine producers co-operative) with a purpose built Visitor Centre where you can taste the wine they produce which has a very good reputation and is exported and sold in Marks and Spencer.....one of their best clients.
You can also of course export a bottle or two back home yourselves!
7 kms - from Brançion (10 minute drive) an amazing enclosed medieval village and fortress.
