Five minutes walk from Hammersmith underground [Piccadilly, District and Hammersmith & City Lines) and ten minutes from the River Thames, Brackenbury Village, with its collection of pretty artesian cottages, larger family houses and an "old London" feel, is a popular choice of neighborhood with actors, writers and media types.
Built at the turn of the 19th century, this house retains many of its original Edwardian features - wooden flooring, fireplaces, ceiling mouldings and cornicing.
It's on three floors with two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a child's bedroom and a sofa-bed. There are three bathrooms and a guest cloakroom. The house is ideal for a family with young children.
The front door opens onto a hallway off which is the open-plan living and dining area (25ft6 x 12ft3, 7.8m x 3.7m). An L shaped suede-leather seven-seater sofa and a cushioned bay window bench provide ample seating, there's a good sized TV with Sky channels and an attractive cast-iron fireplace with real-flame gas coal-effect fire. The dining area with handsome wooden dining table seats 8.
Six steps lead down to the family-friendly kitchen (22ft3 x 17ft6, 6.8m x 5.3m) - part of which is glass-roofed in conservatory style, with French windows that open onto an outside patio area. The kitchen has all the expected appliances including a microwave and dishwasher, a central island with a couple of high seating chairs, two-seater sofa and arm chair, wall mounted TV and iPod dock.
The attractive paved patio area (20ft x 20ft, 6m x 6m) is fully enclosed and has informal outdoor seating.
There's also a guest WC/loo on the ground floor.
Stairs from the kitchen lead to the downstairs "playroom" (15ft6 x 11ft6, 4.7m x 3.5m). This is essentially a kids domain and but there's also a TV+DVD player and a sofa that converts to a double bed. The utility room with washing machine and dryer is also on this floor.
On the half-landing between the ground and first floor is a twin bedroom (13ft9 x 9ft9, 4.2m x 3m) - sorry no photo, a bathroom with bath, basin and loo and a bedroom with a 4ft6 long bed, only suitable for a child.
The first floor is taken up by the light and airy master bedroom (16ft3 x 14ft, 5m x 4.3m) with 6ft wide bed. It is joined (no door) with its en-suite bathroom (12ft3 x 8ft6, 3.7m x 2.6m) with twin "his and her" basins, cast-iron bath tub, separate shower and loo.
There a wall-mounted TV in the bedroom.
The second double bedroom (16ft6 x 9ft9, 5m x 3m) is on the top floor. It has a 5ft wide bed a sofa and easy chair and a another TV.
This bedroom has its own bathroom with shower, basin and loo.
The property has wifi breadband internet access.
