Shaldon, a picturesque village on the river Teign, has shops, pubs, one or two good restaurants and a regular ferry service to Teignmouth.
Shaldon House, a Grade II Listed Regency house on three floors, enjoys a stunning waterside location (the large white house in the photograph). One of six houses in a No Through Road leading down to a slipway, the spacious garden across the lane, extends to the water's edge on two sides.
There are also stone steps down to the foreshore (please take care with toddlers).
Everywhere is furnished to a very high standard, and there is a well-equipped kitchen. With high ceilings and large windows, some with original wooden shutters, almost all rooms have an estuary view, including the elegant first floor sitting-room and the ground floor dining-room. The Owner provides a mooring for dinghies (unsuitable for deep keel boats) and space for a trailer in the parking area. *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot.
