Taking the drive up to the village of Melidoni from the coast is like entering a different Crete, where the mountains dominate and the old traditions ensure that the pace of life is much more relaxed. Villa Electra is set in elegant gardens in an elevated position on the outskirts of the ancient village of Melidoni surrounded by orange groves and olive trees.
The villa is entered through an imposing stone arched porch and you will be immediately struck by how spacious the lovely interior is with its high timbered ceilings and marble floors. The villa is decorated in a traditional style with comfortable furniture in the living area including a settee, a built in sofa, writing desk, easy chairs, occasional tables and a stone fireplace. The dining area has a refractory table big enough for 10 people and the modern kitchen is fully equipped to cater for the maximum number of guests. From the living room french doors lead out on to the terrace and swimming pool.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor level; one is a double and has an en suite bathroom with bath, the other is a twin with large wardrobes and dressing table, both bedrooms have french windows that lead out on to the terrace. On this level there is also another bathroom with shower.
A marble staircase leads up to a second lounge area that has a sofa, easy chairs and occasional tables and has access to a terrace with wonderful views (the sofa converts into a full size sofabed suitable for two adults and this can be used as a private bedroom if required).
The impressive master bedroom has a four poster bed, large wardrobes and a dressing table with french windows giving access to a terrace with views across the garden. It has an excellent en suite bathroom with full bath and a large marble topped vanity unit. A further bedroom has twin beds and is similarly furnished but with an adjacent bathroom.
Externally the terraces are partially covered to provide some shade and there are plenty of chairs and tables. There is a barbecue and a large stone table built around a shade giving tree. Further down the garden is a pergola with trestle tables and reclining chairs.
The large swimming pool has a childrens pool and is surrounded by extensive terraces with sun loungers and umbrellas.
