Villa Octavio occupies the whole ground floor of an old 17th century villa located in a beautiful, panoramic position. This house is especially attractive for its modern dιcor, spaciousness and proximity to the lively center of the famed seaside town of Positano.
The accommodation benefits also from a very large private terrace, which serves as an ideal spot for outside dining, barbecues, or sunset cocktails.>br?
At Villa Octavio guests will fully enjoy the pleasure of a stay into a charming and authentic ancient house of Positano, located in one of the most beautiful spots of the town.
The spacious interiors have high vaulted ceilings and thick stone walls, which is characteristic of the ancient buildings of the Amalfi Coast.
The interiors have been recently refurbished and tastefully furnished throughout and feature lucid majolica tiles flooring and an elegant mixture of antique and modern furniture.
Accommodation: 130 sqm indoor and 200 sqm meters of outdoor area consisting of terraces and gardens with wide panoramic views of the sea.
The large terrace is situated at the front of the villa and has sitting and dining areas, shaded by an awning and a white sun umbrella.
The terrace is filled with pots of colourful geraniums and planted with flowered shrubs, red climbing bougainvillea, citrus and ornamental trees. The terrace is equipped with a dining table which can comfortably seat eight guests, an outdoor shower, a barbecue, a two seater settee, two armchairs and comfortable lounging chairs. It also offers beautiful unspoiled views of the pastel-coloured villas and palaces of the village, piled up in a pyramid above the Mediterranean sea.
Entrance to the villa is through a set of French doors, opening from the terrace, directly into an open plan living room divided into a kitchen, dining and sitting area.
The living area is modern, very comfortably furnished to a high standard, and equipped with 2 leather sofa, a dining table seating up to eight guests, a flat screen TV with CD and DVD player. The ceiling is very high and the room is light, due to a large arched window overlooking the terrace and the sea.
The modern kitchen corner is separated from the rest of the room by a small wall. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, gas range with electric oven, dishwasher, electric kettle, microwave oven, toaster, and American coffee machine.
From one side of the living room, a small corridor leads to the remaining rooms of the villa.
The first room is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a fully enclosed shower, a basin and WC.
The second room is a twin bedroom, the third bedroom contains a French size bed ( small then usual double, just 1.40 cm wide x 1.80 deep).
These two bedrooms share a bathroom with basin , WC and a Jacuzzi tub, located at the end of the corridor.
The fourth bedroom, accessed independently from the terrace, is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a fully enclosed shower, a basin and WC.
Each room has heating/air conditioning which can be regulated independently.
Facilities: Outdoor shower, Satellite TV, DVD, CD reader, American coffee maker, kettle, toaster, four-burner cooker with electric oven, microwave, dishwasher , washing machine, air conditioning/heating throughout, barbecue, ironing equipment, hair dryers. There is also wi-fi internet access, but no telephone.
Mandatory weekly cleaning payable locally in cash Euro 150.00.
Services included: electricity up to 200 kwh, water, gas, initial cleaning, midweek linen change, maid service 3 hours every morning, 5 days a week.
Services upon request by prior arrangement (supplied and payable locally) grocery shopping and deliver ( 30,00), cook service (min 200,00 max 350,00 euros for a chef and waiter), additional maid service ( 15,00 per hour), extra linen ( 20,00 per room), crib ( 50,00 per week), baby sitting ( E 15,00 per hour), porter service ( 5,00 per each piece), personal laundry service (( 15,00 per each load), airport transfers (please enquire for details and prices).
For those with cars, a parking space is provided in a private parking lot, situated at 5 minutes walk from the property ( 20,00 per day per each car).
Access: Villa Octavio will be reached from the street level going up an external stairway which consists of approximately 40 steps.
Distances: Centrally located, the closest fruit and groceries stores, as well as several cafes and restaurants are within an easy walk ( 300 meters) from the villa.
The closest beach is the main beach of Positano, called Spiaggia Grande. It can only be reached on foot in 5/6 minutes by following a charming downhill alley closed to traffic, which will take you to the beach in approximately 600 meters. This alley is full of colourful shops and boutiques, where guests will be able to shop for fashion and local hand-made goods.
Ferries and hydrofoils to Capri (20min), Naples (50 min), Amalfi (30 min) and Salerno (1½h) leave from a pier to the right of the main beach.
The other villages of the coast are easily reached by blue buses marked SITA, since at approximately 300 metres from the house is a SITA bus stop with regular service to and from Amalfi and Sorrento , every 45 minutes / 1 hour.
Places of interest: Sorrento (all facilities and train to Naples) 10 kms, Amalfi 17 kms, Ravello 22 kms, Pompei 45 kms.
