Built in a beautiful olive grove high above the northeast coast, the villa is dedicated to the handsome barn owl that was until now sole occupant of the area. It is still his home – and who could blame him for not wanting to leave such a fabulous setting? With glorious views right across the sea into Albania, including a glimpse of fabled Butrint, and views of the wooded hillsides and bare crags of Mount Pantocrator, this impressive house is placed in a beautiful setting, part of the ‘real’ Corfu.
With broad terraces outside every room, the house is surrounded by imaginatively planted gardens, including a grove of cypress and pomegranate trees.
The swimming pool, too, enjoys a stunning setting slightly higher than the house, framed by trees and with tranquil mountain views. Inside, the house is not only extremely comfortable, it is decorated with imagination and flair. Elaborately framed antique mirrors are a feature of every room, colours are restful, and every carefully chosen object deserves a second glance.
The pretty kitchen is equipped with everything to make holiday cooking a pleasure and includes a wine cooling cabinet. The lower ground floor gives teenagers and children plenty of space of their own in the downstairs ‘den’/living room. Ideal for exploring the hillside paths and old ruined villages of the area, yet within easy reach of the beautiful coastline with fine beaches and water sports of all kinds.
This is a house for all seasons, air-conditioned throughout, but with heating for early and late season.
