These attractive one-bedroom apartments are located in a picturesque farming village in
one of Austria's top ski areas, about an hour's drive south of Salzburg and near
the famous Salzkammergut region. Set in a traditional chalet-style residence, the
apartments feature south-facing balconies with wonderful, uninterrupted views of the
mountains. The village is in a stunning location, sunny and unspoiled by the usual
trappings of tourism.
The apartments are located just 2 minutes from the ski
lifts, which offer access to 140 km of piste for skiers of all abilities. The ski bus stops
right outside the apartments. You can also enjoy cross-country skiing just outside your
door. In addition, there are over 400 kms of mountain bike trails plus countless walks
and hikes in the region, made even more pleasant by the friendly mountain huts, which
offer rest stops and refreshments. The nearby lake is a lovely place to walk, swim, or
simply enjoy the reflection of the glacier towering above it. A cable car is open
throughout the summer for visitors who wish to ride up to 1500 m (4500 feet) for
wonderful views of the village, the lake, and the surrounding mountains. Other local places
of interest include the lakeside town of Hallstatt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
(just 10 minutes away by car), Bad Ischl (an impressive town with the Kaiser
Villa and thermal baths), and, of course, the historic city of Salzburg.
In the village, you will find everything you need, including supermarkets, banks,
hairdressers, tourist information, excellent restaurants, and an indoor community pool.
This residence is family-run by English-speaking owners who are happy to assist with
local information about hiking or biking routes, arranging ski rental or lessons, and so
on. Bike rentals are available locally, as well.
The apartments comprise one
large bedroom (with twin beds plus an additional guest bed), living/dining room (most
with a double sofabed), and a fully equipped kitchen (including a microwave oven). The
apartments are spacious, traditionally furnished, and include satellite TV and intercom
entry system. All linen and towels are provided. Additional charges for local tax and final
cleaning, and for breakfast (available by advance arrangement).
