This charming house situated at the end of a private mews and built in the 1870s, is in a wonderful position - 3 minutes from Hyde Park, 5 minutes from Harrods, yet so quiet you have to pinch yourself to believe you're just a stone's throw away from Hyde Park Corner! Nearest tube, 3 minutes walk, is Knightsbridge (Piccadilly line, tube direct from Heathrow). Parking may be available on request. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and a single, all with their own en-suite facilities. The rooms are beautifully furnished, mainly with antique furniture, and the walls are adorned with paintings and drawings - the owner used to run an art gallery. The front door opens onto a small porch area, left is the drawing (living) room, turn right for the kitchen, both have attractive wooden floors. The drawing room (28ft x 9ft10, 8.6m x 3m) has a 3 seater Bergere sofa, a large ottoman and two French 18c painted chairs. The fireplace has a gas, coal effect, fire and there's a TV/video, stereo and phone/fax. This leads round to the kitchen/dining area where there is a dining table and seating for six and a very attractive modern "country style" kitchen with all the expected appliances, including a dishwasher. A narrow spiral staircase (not for the very young or infirm) leads to the lower ground floor where there's a small sitting room and the first double bedroom (5ft bed) with en-suite bathroom (shower and loo) - this is almost a separate self contained flat, the washing machine and drying cupboard are here. Upstairs is the master bedroom (6ft canopied bed) with en-suite bathroom (bath with hand shower and loo) and a further single bedroom also with its own en-suite bathroom (bath with hand shower and loo). All the bedrooms have their own TV. It's no accident that Knightsbridge, one of the most fashionable places to live in London, boasts some of the capital's best shops, restaurants and hotels. Less than 10 minutes walk away in Beauchamp (pronounced Beecham) Place with its fine collection of fashion shops and at least 6 restaurants. The Hyde Park, Sheraton Tower and Berkley hotels, all with renowned restaurants, are all within a 5 minute walk. This is a No Smoking property.
