Nissim residence occupies the oldest apartment building in Istanbul - a brick residence built in 1881 for a renowned banking family - and recently renovated in a heroic venture of urban renewal.
The narrow lanes around it form part of the city that is rarely seen by tourists
The building was first used as a school and later as a trade center. Today it has become the Nissim apartments. Here you will be surrounded by the mysteries of the past but with the comforts of this century. The building was restored to preserve its beautiful architecture by keeping the original ceilings, floors and all the doors.

shops and restaurants are just a 100 yards away. The narrow lanes nearby form the historic district of Galata, once home of the city's Italian communities. The monuments of Sultanahmet are a quick walk across the Galata bridge, while a three-minute ride by underground funicular leads up into the heart of Istanbul night life along Istiklal Caddesi.
