Kronos house is built in the oldest section of town just underneath the walls of the Venetian fortress. This tall, three storey design and architecture has a Venetian influence, as do most of the buildings in the old town.
The main entrance leads into the kitchen/dining room, with tiled floors and blue painted wooden shelving in the kitchen. The seating around a cosy kitchen table is the traditional built-in style often used.
There is a W/C shower room in the far corner and a winding wooden stairway leading to the second level. Here you find a landing and double doors leading into a bedroom with two single beds and windows out to the pretty neighbourhood. Also from the landing on the second level, the back door to the outer patio and gate is found. The next winding stairway then leads to the top floor of the house and comprises an airy double bedroom.
The polished wooden floor, open beamed ceiling, antique furniture and traditional fireplace makes you feel instantly at home in this room.
There is a wooden balcony accessed through French doors, with fabulous views over the town and sea. A place to while away the hours relaxing, reading and enjoying life in a Greek neighbourhood. The house is tastefully furnished and decorated throughout.
With the maze of winding and picturesque streets of the old town at your feet, there is plenty of opportunity to explore. One of the oldest churches which dates from 1600, Saint Georgios, is situated just around the corner from the house as is the Venetian fortress with it's base stones dating from the 4th century B. C.
A walled stairway with dramatic views down the shear cliffs to the sea, leads either up to the fortress or down to the harbour and is just outside your door.
Within close proximity of the house is an open-air café open from May to Mid- September with stunning views out to sea and the neighbouring island of Alonissos. A local supermarket is found within a five minute walk and the waterfront and its shops, restaurants and cafes is a short 7 minute walk down the steep stairways of town. The small beach of Glyfoneri at the bay of Agios Konstantinos can be reached in approximately twenty minutes walk from the house. There is a selection of local tavernas along the road down to the beach with stwonderful views to the bay and beyond.
