The house is situated in a village, where there is a bakery, small local shop, restaurants and Fado bar.
The nearby village of Colares is approximately 3km away, famous for it’s local wine and great restaurants; for all your fresh products, Colares has good bakeries and delicatessens and during the weekend there is a good street market where you can find fresh vegetables, local products and flowers.
The romantic town of Sintra is only 6km away. For good beaches you only need to drive 10-15 minutes; visit Praia do Guincho or Praia Grande, both popular with surfers, and Praia das Maçãs.
The picturesque Azenhas do Mar, a short drive north, is a charming village built on the edge of the rocky cliffs. Do not forget to visit the capital, Lisbon which is only 30 minutes drive away; hop on the cable car, and in the evening eat at one of the Fado restaurants in the Alfama district.
A gate opens into a mature, well-cared for garden with a path that leads you to the property. The front door opens into the hallway off which is the kitchen with cupboards, cooker, fridge/freezer and a small table with stools. Next to the kitchen is a corridor which leads to a bathroom/wc and two double bedrooms.
On the right hand side of the corridor a door leads you to the living/dining room, with two comfortable chairs arranged in front of the fireplace and tv plus a dining table and chairs to seat 8.
To the right of the entrance hall stairs lead to the first floor which has a balcony, a single bedroom, a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom/wc.
Outside, the gardens are well cared for, with fruit trees and bougainvillaea. There is a built in barbecue and a kidney shaped swimming pool towards the back; towards the front of the garden is a wire covered well so parents must keep an eye on children.
