This lovely old stone property is set in beautiful gardens with mature trees, exotic plants and colourful, well-stocked flower beds. The home of an artist and official local guide - here is an opportunity to discover the true Provence!
The accommodation is in three separate, self contained units, ideal for two or three families holidaying together but wishing some degree of independence. The rooms are spacious with exposed stone walling and oak beams and the farmhouse-style dining room has an old stone fireplace.
The property is situated just a short stroll from the center of this famous village, once home to Vincent Van Gogh, which has excellent shops and restaurants. Wander through the ancient alleyways, visit the bustling Wednesday market and the impressive Roman remains at Glanum. Opposite the house is the bull ring arena where, in the tradition of Provence where the bull is not killed, occasional "spectacles" take place where matadors and bulls compete in games of skill and agility. Nearby Arles is famous for its extraordinarily well-preserved Roman arena, as well as an impressive variety of Roman and medieval monuments. The town is also well-known for its associations with Van Gogh, who lived here in the late 19th century.
