Situated in the foothills of the Pyrénées, Les Tourettes offers an idyllic haven from which to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside of the Midi-Pyrénées. Les Tourettes is set in 2,800 sq m of land with a private south-facing garden to the front of the gîte for your exclusive use. Within the garden there is a built in barbecue area and patio so you can enjoy the pleasures of alfresco dining or simply sit with a glass of wine in the evening and watch the sun go down. A small orchard is situated within the grounds where you can help yourself to fruit and strawberries at any time, depending on the season. To welcome you to Les Tourettes the owners provide a small food pack on your arrival. There are 2 bikes available for your use and also a petanque set if you would like to try your hand at this very popular French pastime!
The patio area takes you to the main door to the gîte and straight into the fully equipped farmhouse kitchen. Within the kitchen is a log fire, farmhouse table, washing machine, iron, ironing board, fridge, gas cooker, kettle, toaster as well as crockery, glasses, utensils etc - everything you would expect to find in a well equipped kitchen. The stairs from the kitchen take you to the lounge where you can relax in the comfortable sofas, whilst listening to music from the cd-player. Or you could watch tv or a video from the selection provided. Alternatively, you could read, choosing from the range of English books. Also provided are board games and puzzles for your entertainment. From the lounge a door leads you to the twin bedroom with en suite shower room and toilet. A few stairs from the lounge take you through a door to the double bedroom and en suite bathroom and toilet. All bed linen, towels, logs, central heating and electricity are included in the price. There is ample parking with the grounds.
As Les Tourettes is situated in the foothills of the Pyrénées, it is ideally located for skiing in the winter, walking in the summer and bird watching. Close by there is a golf course, horse-riding, go-carting, Lac Montbel, not to mention the picturesque villages and historical sites that makes the south of France a special place to visit. The owners supply brochures on places of interest and tourist attractions. They also have a photograph album of local sites for you to peruse to help you plan your holiday.
