As you climb the track from the village, one of the most striking views is that of a lush green garden with huge Cyprus trees and vivid purple bougainvillaea reaching into the upper branches. Behind the high walls, set in 1 ½ acres of land lies an imposing, stone built, twin property.
Unusually, the owners have built two identical detached houses on the land. One is kept for their own occasional use and the other is a very welcome addition to our programme offering facilities comparable with those of the larger properties yet is suitable for couples or small family groups.
The extremely spacious interior is kept delightfully cool with thick stone walls, terracotta tiles and wooden shuttered windows. There are dining terraces at the front and the side of the house and a very large upper balcony. The superb pool (12 x 6 metres, constant depth 1.65 metres), set just below the house, is surrounded by sun terraces with comfortable sun beds, large sun shades and a cushioned seating area.
Villa Gesmin lies ½ kilometre from the small village, 3 ½ kilometres from the centre of Yalikavak and just a short drive from the large supermarkets that can be found on the main road towards Yalikavak. Car hire is recommended.
ACCOMMODATION
Entrance to raised hallway with French doors to side terrace, utility room with washing machine, bathroom with walk in shower. Steps down from hallway to large living area with fireplace, satellite TV, tape, telephone and French doors to front terrace. Kitchen area with hob, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and French doors to side terrace. Side terrace with built in barbecue and dining furniture.
Steps from hallway to first floor, huge master bedroom with double bed and doors to large balcony overlooking the pool and garden. Separate walk in closet area with floor to ceiling cupboards. Large bathroom with shower/wc. Second large bedroom with double bed (twin beds available on request) and possibility of extra bed.
The owners, who speak excellent English, occasionally reside in their own property and from time and time may use the pool.
Housekeeping staff live in their own cottage within the grounds and Nar, the friendly Irish setter, also lives in the grounds.
