Situated in the old Jordaan district, Keizers Houseboat borders on two canals, the Brouwersgracht and Prinsengracht. This 3-bedroom air-conditioned houseboat is a rarity - few houseboats are this large, or this luxurious. Newly built to very high specifications, its modern, light interior is surpringly roomy. While the boat's exterior is classic and traditional, inside, you will find modern materials, skylights, and windows on all sides. From the upstairs den and from the decks, you will enjoy views of 17th-century bridges, the oldest "brown cafe" in Amsterdam, and the passing boat traffic. Formerly a working-class neighborhood, the revitalized Jordaan district has become a sought-after part of the city. There are many fine little restaurants, boutiques, shops, squares, and old churches. The canals are lined with 17th-century warehouses and merchant houses which now serve as comfortable homes. A 5-minute walk will take you to the central train station, and from there, it is a 20-minute ride to Schiphol Airport. All major museums are located nearby, ranging from the Anne Frank House (10 minutes' walk) to to the Rijksmuseum with its Rembrandt works, the Stedelijk museum, and the van Gogh museum (a 15-minute tram ride). Keizers Houseboat offers three bedrooms (one king-size, one double, one with a bunk bed), two bathrooms, living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen with microwave, electronic stone grill, and large refrigerator filled with your favorite drink free of charge (on request). Amenities include a 32" wide screen TV with DVD surround-sound system, a second TV and stereo system in the master bedroom, air conditioning, coded safe, and alarm system on all doors and windows. A 24-hour Internet connection is available so you can plan your Amsterdam sightseeing online or check your email. This houseboat is nonsmoking and pet-free.
