The area has a huge variety of activities on offer: hillwalking on the Nephin Way, activity centres at Achill, golf at Westport, Castlebar and Mulranny (which also has a Blue Flag beach and riding). There are miles of unspoilt shorelines to be explored on Clew Bay and deep sea angling is available by arrangement with the owner. The river is 50 yards from the cottage for wonderful salmon fishing (local permits available). Belmullet and Ballina make for pleasant drives, whilst Connemara is an enjoyable scenic day trip. Shops, restaurants and pubs 1.25 miles. Ground floor: Living room with slate floor.
