This idyllic 18th Century Manor House is set in its own 24-acre park bordered by the wooded banks of a river. It is the perfect place for a holiday. The house is maintained to a high standard with a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere. It has a heated fully fenced swimming pool, grass tennis court, walled garden, avenue, barbecue, table tennis, fishing, its own boat on the river and even its own small island.
The house with its marbled hall, curving staircase and tall windows combines elegance and comfort. It sleeps 6-16+ (up to 10-12 in the main house and 4+ in the adjoining barn which also has a beautiful music room with a grand piano). The Main House is excellent for smaller as well as larger parties.
We have a wonderful cook and helpful maids/babysitters [at additional cost] who live in the adjoining village (15 mins from Montbard with its direct TGV link to Paris).
There is space for you to park your car beside the house which you enter by the garden door. Garden furniture is provided.
Main House- The accommodation comprises:
Ground Floor: Kitchen - large room - Drawing room - an elegant room with a log fire - Dining room - Petit salon - Double bedroom - with en-suite shower
First Floor: Two double bedrooms and three twin bedrooms - they are charming rooms, three of which are en-suite - One single bedroom - Bathroom - Extra beds may be added upon request.
The Barn and Music Room: The barn adjoins the main house on the first floor and has a separate entrance. The barn has views that overlook the pool. In the barn room above the stables is a large studio room come music room and two more double bedrooms. The music room has a grand piano, simple sofa and chairs. The tall french windows lead onto an elegant balcony and stone staircase down to the pool.
The accommodation comprises: Two bedrooms - both with twin beds which can be made into doubles. Both rooms en-suite - Music Room - Extra beds may be added upon request.
There is a lovely cook (optional) but the owners strongly recommend her. She is a really good cook and is excellent value for a really relaxing carefree holiday.
