Set deep in the heart of the Spanish hinterland between Granada (1 hour's drive) and the Coast (1/2 hour's drive), Cortijo Torula dates back to 1492.
The house has been elegantly and thoughtfully renovated, preserving its unique atmosphere and historical features, including some of the original furniture and decorations.
The property comprises of the mansion, where most of the accommodations are located, a separate cottage with two bedrooms, spacious ornamental gardens, private chapel, pool, tennis court and outside summer bar/eating area, all surrounded by magnificent views of the hillsides and valley. There are twelve bedrooms in the main house, all individually decorated and furnished with antiques. Every bedroom, except for one on the third floor, has an en suite bathroom. Guest areas in the main building include a vaulted drawing room with original stone fireplace, an attractive wood panelled dining room, and a library and games room/museum.
The ornamental Moorish-style gardens have been laboriously restored to their former glory. Ancient cypress hedges border an attractive swimming pool fed by a natural spring. Granada, the ski resort of Solynieve (Sierra Nevada), and the Alpujarra Mountains, are just a few of the numerous attractions that lie within a short drive of the property. Entrance to the property is electronically controlled, guaranteeing guests’ privacy at all times. There is ample outdoor parking. A gardener tends to the grounds until noon, Monday through Friday.

The Mansion: Three floors.
Ground floor: The ground floor rooms include two living rooms, a kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, a small library, and a games room with pool table. There are two bedrooms: 1 twin with en suite bathroom with shower, and 1 single bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower (note: this bedroom is reserved for staff). First floor: There are eight bedrooms on this floor. The bedrooms include: 1 double bedroom with sitting area and en suite bathroom (bath and hand-held shower); 1 suite with double bed, living room, and en suite bathroom (both bath and shower); 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom (bath and hand-held shower) and views over the garden; 3 twin bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (all with baths and hand-held showers); 1 double bedroom with canopy bed and en suite bathroom (bath and hand-held shower); and 1 twin room with sitting area and en suite bathroom (bath and hand-held shower).
Second floor: There is one double bedroom with en suite bathroom (bath and hand-held shower) and private terrace. Additionally, there is a twin bedroom with separate bathroom (bath and hand-held shower) located in the converted dovecote.
The Cottage: There are two double bedrooms and one bathroom (bath and hand-held shower).
