Nestling in the ‘old part’ of a traditional Cretan village (famous for the scenes in Zorba the Greek) lies Villa Larikis, A 300 years old traditionally built house which has been lovingly and painstakingly renovated and restored by its Cretan Owners for the last two years.
VILLA Larikis has two very large bedrooms (One Double Bedded Room and One with a Double Bed and two Twin Beds) plus two upstairs bedrooms, one with Twin beds and one with one Single bed. There are three bathrooms, all en-suite. The Family bathroom has a large bath with hydro-massage, the other two bathrooms have Showers, WC and Wash Hand basins. There is also a ground floor cloakroom.
All bedrooms are well furnished and equipped with plenty of storage.
The Village has two lovely Tavernas, three Bar / Cafes and a couple of Mini Markets for your local shopping all within a short stroll of the villa. The nearby sea side resort of Almirida Bay is only 2 minutes away by car.
Enter the house through the front door to find:
Accommodation: On the Ground Floor there is a large, airy, Living and Dining Area. The Living Area is comfortably furnished in traditional Cretan style with the advantage of modern comfort. There is a bed settee for the additional sleeping of 2 persons. The Living Area has a large size TV / DVD and CD player. From the Living Area is the spacious Kitchen with large Dining Table. The Kitchen has been totally modernised and has a wealth of electrical appliances, microwave, full sized cooker and a washing machine. Dining Table to seat 8 persons. There is a downstairs bathroom with shower.
Up the wooden staircase to the bedroom with Single bed, bathroom with shower and the Twin bedroom. From the Single bedroom go out onto the large roof terrace with breathtaking views onto Almirida Bay, an ideal spot to watch the sun go down across the Bay of Souda. There is an outside Table and Chair set on this very large outside terrace.

The spacious Living Area has a traditional arch spanning the room and dividing it into two areas. One area has a double bed settee and lounge area, the second has a raised bed platform with two single beds and is curtained for privacy.
A further large sofa is next to the doors to the private inner courtyard.
Also from this room and accessed by staircase is the larger roof terrace with patio furniture and large swing hammock to make the most of the views of the White Mountains and across the village to Souda Bay.
The ground floor bathroom is located of this room and has a whirlpool spa bath, vanity unit and WC.
A doorway provides privacy between the two living rooms.
The Dining Area has a large Dining Table and chairs. There are traditional doors that open to the courtyard and swimming pool area.
The Kitchen is fully equipped and includes electric oven and ceramic hob with extractor over, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher, together with small appliances.
Of this room is the ground floor cloakroom with WC and hand basin.
Also of this room is the ground floor master bedroom with large double bed and en-suite shower room. This bedroom also has a lounge area with single bed/settee and a door to the private inner courtyard. There is a staircase is the smaller of the property's two roof terraces.
A staircase gives access to the first floor landing bedroom with single bed settee and the third of the property's bathrooms which has shower, vanity basin and WC,
A further double bedroom with large four poster bed is located on this floor.
There is direct access to the large roof terrace overlooking the Village, the White Mountains and Souda Bay. The perfect spot for an evening drink as you watch the sun setting over Souda Bay.
Outside: As VILLA Larikis is situated in the oldest part of the Village it stands at the end of a small village lane and you enter the private courtyard through traditional double gates.
The stone walled courtyard stands in front of the house and there is plenty of space for lounging and alfresco dining around the swimming pool (7m x 4m). There is an abundance of urns and terracotta pots with colourful geraniums, bougainvillea and Mediterranean plants enhancing the atmosphere of staying in a traditional Cretan village as if time has stood still yet enjoying all the amenities and facilities of the present day!
