This apartment owned by a prominent Florentine family, is located on Lungarno Torrigiani, the street running along the south side of the Arno river to the Ponte Vecchio (Florence's famous Old Bridge).
It is opposite the Uffizi Gallery with the Vasari corridor in full view and within a short walking distance from all of Florence's most important sights (5 minutes to the Pitti Palace and Piazza Della Signoria). The neighbourhood is famous for its many artisans workshops, antique stores and good restaurants.
Apartment measures approx. 220 square meters and is situated on the first floor up (with elevator and doorman).
The 5-bedroom, 4 bathroom layout results from combining two apartments.
“Arnovale” consists of: an entry hall, living/dining room, an eat-in kitchen (table for 6, washing machine), a bedroom (with twin beds that may be converted to a double) and an en-suite bathroom with shower, a second bedroom (with twin beds that may be converted to a double) and a bathroom with tub and hand shower. A walk-thru sitting room/study/bedroom (with two twin beds) leads to a second living room, dining area/study (table for 7/8), kitchen/laundry room (with washing machine and dryer), a bedroom, a bathroom and a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (shower).
The furnishings are a mixture of modern and antiques with hardwood floors and whimsically painted wall accents. Five rooms of this apartment have windows overlooking the river, Ponte Vecchio and the spectacular Loggiato degli Uffizi.
The apartment has independent central heating, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, gas stove, oven, dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer. It comes supplied with two sets of linen and towels.
POSITIVE: Wonderful location, lovely views and good light, although the apartment does not get direct sun light, being on the south side of the river.
NEGATIVE: This apartment is actually two apartments put together and one must walk through a bedroom/study to get from one side to the other. There may be some noise from the streets at the front and back of the building.
