Cambry is a lovely 15th century chateau near Bayeux and the Normandy Beaches. It's a typical Normandy château on the outside, a wonderful restoration on the inside. Peace and quiet are guaranteed together with daily pampering. Main house: 2 living rooms, dining room, kitchen, 4 bathrooms with wc, 1 separate wc, 2 double bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, 1 dormitory with 4 single beds each with 1 extra pull-out bed Loft house: Living/dining room/kitchen, 1 bathroom with separate shower and wc, 1 double bedroom, 2 single sofabeds Guest house #1: Living/dining room/kitchen, 1 bathroom with separate shower and wc, 1 double bedroom, 2 single sofabeds OR Guest house #2: Living/dining room/kitchen with 2 single sofabeds, 1 shower room with wc, 1 double bedroom Facilities: Washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, bed linen and bathroom towels included, cot, high-chair, 4 hours cleaning including setting breakfast table per day included, end of rental cleaning charge; Guest House #1 and Guest House #2 provide baby-sitting and cook on request, telephone (internet portal), satellite TV, video, DVD, CD, sauna, barbecue, table tennis, boules (18m "bocci" court), badminton, croquet, tree house, 100m moat with rowboat, bikes Location: In a prime location for visiting the many varied sites of Normandy, this 14th century Henri IV château finished in the 16th century is set in 12 hectares of gardens and fields and enjoys a pastoral setting close to a working dairy and cider farm. There are many local markets offering fresh produce nearby, as well as beautiful historic stone dwellings. It is located on the edge of a hamlet with shopping facilities. Isigny-sur-Mer is 12km away, Bayeux at 25km, Caen just 54km, and Paris 3 hours by train. Every day of the week there is a market in a different village nearby. Omaha beach (12km) is the closest coastal location for swimming and water sports, and there are many other good beaches. There is an 18 hole golf course 22km away overlooking the sea at Port-en-Bessin-Huppain.There is such an array of places to visit, from the landing beaches to the Bayeux tapestries, Mont St-Michel and the towns of Deauville and Honfleur, that the owner can arrange sightseeing trips with a very good local English-speaking guide (extra charge payable locally). Interior: The interiors are beautifully furnished to a high standard. The Main House consists on the first floor of a large entrance hall opening onto a winter living room with a walk-in fireplace, a summer living room, a dining room and a laundry room, as well as a separate wc. On the second floor are the master double bedroom next to a bathroom with a wc, and a large dormitory with four single beds, each with a single pull-out bed, ideal for lots of children and a nanny, but also comfortable for adults. There is another bathroom with a wc on this floor. On the third floor is a double bedroom with a little alcove suitable for a cot and a bathroom with a wc. At the top of the tower on a fourth level is a large double bedroom with an additional single bed, and a bathroom with a wc. There is a choice of either of the Guest Houses to be rented together with the Main House. They each sleep four and are located close to the main house. The Guest House 1 is up a set of stairs with all accommodation on one level, with a double bedroom curtained off from the spacious living/dining and kitchen area which has two single sofabeds, and a bathroom with a separate shower and a wc. The Guest House 2 is on two levels, with a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area with two single sofabeds (can be made up as a double) and a shower room with a wc at ground level, and a double bedroom on a mezzanine. There is a separate building (not heated) with large bay windows which houses a large dining room suitable for up to 20 persons.
