Set on the River Blavet near Vannes in Southern Brittany, this classic Breton family house has been renovated to a high standard and divided into two attractive apartments. Both feature views of the river. This is an ideal base for exploring Brittany, a region full of Celtic history and mystery, tales of King Arthur, giants, and magical places. St. Nicolas des Eaux is a small village tucked along the banks of the River Blavet in the heart of Brittany, close to medieval towns (Pontivy, Vannes, Auray...), churches, and countryside. Within 30 minutes, you can also reach the coast and explore the pretty beaches, bays, the striking cliffs of the Coast Sauvage, and the beautiful inland sea of the Gulf of Morbihan. In this area, you can walk or cycle for miles in either direction along the river or fish from the riverbank. There is also a canoe/kayak center, and a pretty nine-hole golf course just 10 minutes' drive away. There are two creperies, two good restaurants, and bars; and a 5-minute drive brings you to Plumeliau, where you will find supermarkets, banks, post office, and more. Apartment #1 accommodates two adults and one child and offers 1 double bedroom (crib available), 1 bathroom, living/dining room with small Breton sofabed and French windows opening onto the garden, and fully equipped kitchen with microwave oven, dishwasher, and washing machine. Apartment #2 accommodates four to five adults and offers 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), 1 bathroom, living/dining room with double sofabed, and fully equipped kitchen; with TV, stereo, DVD player on request, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine.
