This light and airy first and second floor flat (no lift) is perfectly situated in one of London's most prestigious areas. Some of the capital's most exclusive shops and best restaurants are virtually on your doorstep - Harrods is just a 2 minute walk away, and Hyde Park 5 minutes. Your nearest tube is Knightsbridge (Piccadilly line) The apartment is the property of a couple with a young child who spend their time between London, Switzerland and America. It sleeps 5 in a double bedroom, a twin and a single. There are two bathrooms - one of which is en-suite, and a downstairs guest loo. The front door opens onto a small lobby space which immediately leads to the large (24ft3 x 19ft9, 7.4m x 6m) combined living and dining area. This is a fine room with twin high arched alcoves, each with French windows giving out to a balcony that overlooks the Street; this is a very wide street so the buildings opposite are too distant for their occupants to see into your living space. On the right hand side of the room is the dining area with a table that extends to seat 6 and a work station with Apple computer (available for guests to use) and wifi high-speed broadband connection if you want to use your own laptop. On the left hand side is the sitting area where a 3 seater sofa and 2 contemporary arm chairs face a large wood and glass central table. There's a working gas coal-effect fire. The TV is currently in the bedroom but can be moved into the living area (ask when you book) and has the full satellite Sky package - including CNN and FOX. There's a stereo system with CDs ranging from Bob Marley and the Wailers to Wagner's Ring Cycle! The kitchen is small but well equipped with all the expected appliances including a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There's a downstairs guest loo. Stairs lead from the living area to the bedrooms. The master bedroom (12ft6 x 9ft, 3.75m x 3.25m) has a 5ft wide bed and good storage space in built-in cupboards. It also has its own en-suite bathroom with bath + over-shower, basin and loo. There are two further bedrooms, a smallish (12ft10 x 8ft10, 3.9m x 2.7m) twin and a single - sorry no photos available. These share the second bathroom - bath + over-shower, basin and loo. It's no accident that Knightsbridge, one of the most fashionable places to live, boasts some of the best shops and restaurants in London. Apart from Harrods, 2 minutes away (your local corner shop!), for the fashion conscious there's Harvey Nichols, Princess Diana's favourite department store. Less than 3 minutes walk away is Beauchamp (pronounced Beecham) Place with its fine collection of fashion shops and at least 6 restaurants. The Hyde Park, Sheraton Tower and Berkley hotels, all with renowned restaurants, are all within a 10 minute walk on Knightsbridge; even closer is the Carlton Tower with its celebrated Rib Room and Oyster Bar.
