Mykonos may be the classic Greek island, famous for its picturesque windmills and clusters of whitewashed houses set against the background of the blue Aegean. Set in the middle of the Aegean Sea, Mykonos is easily reached by ferry or by daily 30-minute flights from Athens. This sun-drenched island offers beautiful sandy beaches, many with facilities for windsurfing and waterskiing. The best beaches and one or two popular nude beaches are located outside of the town, and are accessible by bus, taxi, rented car or bicycle. After a relaxing day on the beach, you can dine at one of the island's many restaurants -- then sample the nightclubs and discover why Mykonos enjoys a worldwide reputation for hedonistic nightlife. Mykonos is also an ideal base for excursions to nearby islands such as Delos, the site of some fascinating temple ruins. THE PROPERTY The Aegean Residence is located on a quiet hillside overlooking Mykonos town. The Residence comprises several groups of houses designed in local style, none more than two stories high, interconnected by narrow lanes, arcades and small squares. The apartments and townhouses range in size from studios to 3 bedrooms, all with tasteful Greek-style furnishings. Most of the apartments face the courtyards of the Residence, and thus do not have sea views. The Residence offers a private pool, a sunbathing terrace, a poolside bar and a highly regarded restaurant. It is an easy walk to the shops, restaurants and tavernas of the town center. INTERIORS Studios include sleeping area, bathroom, living/dining area and fully equipped kitchen; 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and townhouses include bedroom(s), bathroom, living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. All are tastefully furnished and offer a private terrace or balcony, plus direct-dial telephone, color satellite TV and air-conditioning. Sofabeds are available in some apartments.
