This old "masia," or farmhouse, is situated behind the fishing port of Calella de Palafrugell.
The house dates back to the 14th century, and has been converted to a charming holiday home. In fact, it is rare to find a house of this age and character within walking distance of the beach. La Masia offers a garden and private pool, and is still a working farm (the owner's horse is stabled nearby). Calella itself is a delightful fishing village; you can walk there for dining and shopping, and also walk down to the nearest coves and beaches (facing a steeper walk on your return, of course). All modern amenities have been added, but the old stone house retains many rustic touches; the olive press in the entrance hall is authentic to the property. One of the bedrooms enjoys a sea view.
